Incorporating extrinsic metadata from Papers With code
Closed, MigratedEdits Locked

Description

The Papers With Code community project is a remarkable initiative to annotate research articles with links to the code that they use/mention/produce. The links to the descrption and the data is https://paperswithcode.com/about (look for "Downloading the data", for example here is the (gzipped) json with the current associations https://paperswithcode.com/media/about/links-between-papers-and-code.json.gz).

This is a highly valuable source of (meta)information that we definitely want to ingest as extrinsic metadata in Software Heritage, and use when we'll provide an enriched browsing view for the archived code.

This task is not immediately actionable yet, as the data is being constantly enriched: we need to get in touch with Papers With Code to see how to best get an incremental feed.
