Missing Apollo 11 virtual AGC repository from Google Code
Closed, MigratedEdits Locked

Description

The original development of the VirtualAGC project was conducted on Google Code (subversion) until 2016.
An archived version is still available here: https://code.google.com/archive/p/virtualagc/source
But it seems to appear nowhere in our archive: why?

rdicosmo created this task.

The project.json and a couple of source archives have been downloaded during our early archival of google code, however I don't see a dump of the svn repository.

The files we had downloaded are present in the azure archival bucket archiveeuwestswh, under the path mirrors/code.google.com/sources/v2/code.google.com/v/virtualagc. I've set them to "rehydrate" so we can download them to inspect them again.

In the original index of the google code buckets, the following files referencing virtualagc were present:

olasd@saam:/srv/storage/space/mirrors/code.google.com$ zgrep virtualagc google-code-archive.txt.gz
gs://google-code-archive/v2/code.google.com/virtualagc/commits-page-1.json
[...]
gs://google-code-archive/v2/code.google.com/virtualagc/commits-page-11.json
gs://google-code-archive/v2/code.google.com/virtualagc/downloads-page-1.json
gs://google-code-archive/v2/code.google.com/virtualagc/issues-page-1.json
gs://google-code-archive/v2/code.google.com/virtualagc/issues/issue-1.json
[...]

The numerous commits-page-xxx.json files suggest that a source repository was indeed available. I don't know why we (apparently) didn't fetch it nor ingest it at the time. We should inspect the archived project.json to understand why.
