Following up the discussion in T3677:
We should see if the extrinsic metadata specification needs refactoring following the decision taken on the metadata-only deposit.
At the end of this discussion in this task we should:
I think we (or I should say- I) missed ambiguity of the concept origin.
In https://forge.softwareheritage.org/T1738 and in the spec, seems the origin refers only to the source-code's origin.
But origin (both source code and metadata) is about "where exactly this was found".
The origin-metadata, that we are introducing in the deposit, might be transversal to all extrinsic metadata.
One place where origin-metadata is identical to origin-source-code, would be metadata from forges.
Anyway, it is good practice to review design decisions and verify these still work.
